Kefir is a cultured drink made with raw milk, and it is simply teeming with probiotics and beneficial bacteria that enhance your health! Enjoy plain or add to smoothies. Please reach out to us if you're searching for grains. We love to share from our fermented bounties! :)
Ingredients
- 1 T. kefir grains
- 3 c. raw milk
Directions
- Place the kefir grains in a glass jar and add the milk.
- Place a lid on the jar and let sit at room temperature for approximately 24 hours (or until the milk has thickened or has become sour tasting).
- Pour the kefir into a strainer to separate the kefir from the grains.
- Add fresh milk to the remaining kefir grains, then the whole process is simply repeated for the next batch. Your kefir grains will grow and multiply each week, so increase the milk or remove some of the grains. You can give your extra grains to friends or pets, or you can even blend them up in the blender with a smoothie and drink them. They are good for you!
- Store the finished kefir in the refrigerator.
